In the world of Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), character designs are as much an engineering challenge as they are an artistic one. When we first received the commission request for Chinatsu Remiel (Sunna), our eyes immediately locked onto that massive, gravity-defying ponytail.
At Koollia, we don't just "make" wigs; we curatate inspirations. Our goal is to transform complex digital designs into tangible, wearable art. This 22-day journey with our client from the United States wasn't just about styling—it was a masterclass in professional Custom Cosplay Wig collaboration.
The Challenge: Translating ZZZ's Physics into Reality
Chinatsu’s hair features a unique silhouette that refuses to obey gravity, paired with subtle light green gradients and deep shadows. Our client, reaching out on April 20th, expressed a clear need for quality and accuracy:
"I'm emailing to ask about a quote for a in depth styled wig of Chinatsu Remiel/Sunna... I would love to do the half-anti-gravity style please!"
We knew this required more than just hairspray. We proposed a half-anti-gravity structure and, understanding the high stakes of such a piece, offered a flexible 3-payment installment plan to ensure the client felt supported from the very first step.
Consultation & Expert Color Matching: More Than Just a Swatch
The foundation of a great wig is its base color. Instead of choosing a "close enough" match, we purchased two different base wigs to compare in person.

When we shared the options, the client’s excitement was infectious: "Oh wowww the color is perfect, its literally a match to her hair!!"
But color is only half the battle. We noticed the subtle shadows in her bangs and curls. While the client suggested a dark green, our experience told us that pure dark green might look "muddy." We recommended a darker shade with a subtle green undertone to create a realistic 3D shadow effect.
"I prefer your advice as you have much more experience in your craft!" —— This trust from our clients is what allows us to push boundaries.
Engineering the Skeleton: The Secret to the Anti-Gravity Ponytail
On May 4th, we revealed the internal "Skeleton". For a ponytail this size to stay perfectly in place during a busy convention, it needs a lightweight yet incredibly sturdy internal structure.

We posted a strength test of this structure on our social media, and the client was thrilled: "Omgg !!!!! The skeleton structure is sooo amazing and its turning out so perfect!"
This phase is where "Wig Styling" meets "Architecture." We ensured the ponytail remained detachable using a small tube connection, making it convention-friendly and easy to transport.
Airbrushing & Final Styling: Adding Dimensional Shadows
The final touch was the custom airbrushing. Using the "green undertone" strategy we discussed, we added a smooth gradient from the mid-lengths to the tips. This technique ensures that even in low-light convention halls, the wig maintains its depth and doesn't look flat in photos.
We paid special attention to the Fake Hairline and the "anti-gravity" lift at the roots. On May 11th, we sent the final reveal photos. The response was the ultimate reward for our stylists:
"OMG IM ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY BY HOW IT CAME OUT !!!"
"You did absolutely amazing and I'm so excited to wear this to all my future conventions!"
